Jeremy Clarkson expresses concern over ‘catastrophic’ crop harvest

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Jeremy Clarkson says the income from his television show Clarkson’s Farm is the only reason his “Diddly Squat” farm has survived, as this year’s crop harvest is in a “catastrophic” state. The 1,000-acre property in Oxfordshire is the subject of the hit Prime Video series, which follows his challenges running the farm.

Last Friday, Clarkson wrote on social media platform X:
“It looks like this year’s harvest is catastrophic. Anyone who eats food should be worried. If such a disaster had occurred in any other industry, there would be a chorus of wailing and complaining.”

When one of Clarkson’s fans suggested that this “drama” could become material for Clarkson’s Farm, the former Top Gear host replied:
“Yes. But most farms don’t have a television show to keep them going.”
He added that without diversifying his business ventures and opening a village pub, the farm wouldn’t have had “a cat in hell’s chance” of survival.

The presenter, who recently parted ways with Prime Video’s The Grand Tour, signed a £160 million contract in 2020 for three seasons of Clarkson’s Farm. The show’s fourth season aired in early 2025.

Clarkson had previously stated that “Diddly Squat” farm had been hit by an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis and was unable to buy or sell cattle for two months. He bought the property in 2008 and decided to take over its management in 2019.
